HUOMO
Research

Observing our own nature.

Human agency is the scientific backbone of HUOMO. Decision and action are observable routes into it — not the whole of it.

Today HUOMO can observe, explore, make visible and work with teams and situations. The methods for measuring and validating what we observe are still in development, together with partners. We keep practice and evidence clearly apart.

The working question

A decision leaves a trace. Can the arc from an emerging decision to an implemented action be observed in the traces of real work — and does it tell us anything about a team’s capability to judge, decide and act?

How we work with partners

We are looking for partners who bring methodological depth in study design, independent human coding or a second field context. The form of each collaboration — including publication, authorship and access to research material — is agreed for the specific study. Nothing is promised before the work is defined.

Scientific lead: Chathudina Janitha Liyanage, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and BOKU Vienna.

Human coders establish the reference before a language model is tested against it. Never the other way around. We publish the question and the work; instruments remain in development until the evidence supports them.
